Trace Adkins has returned to the album that introduced his unmistakable baritone to country radio. Dreamin’ Out Loud: 30th Anniversary was released Friday, October 16, by Capitol Records Nashville and UMe, bringing his 1996 debut to vinyl for the first time.
The anniversary edition is also available on CD. Both versions retain the original album’s 10-song sequence and add a live performance of “Every Light in the House,” recorded in Nashville in 2021.
Produced by Scott Hendricks, Dreamin’ Out Loud was originally released on June 25, 1996. The album went Platinum, reached No. 6 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and climbed to No. 1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart.
Its four singles quickly established Adkins as one of the defining new voices of the late 1990s. His debut single, “There’s a Girl in Texas,” which he wrote with Vip Vipperman, reached the country Top 20. “Every Light in the House” climbed to No. 3, “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing” became his first No. 1, and “I Left Something Turned On at Home” followed with a No. 2 peak.
The new edition does not rearrange or expand the original studio album beyond its single live bonus track. Its most notable addition is the vinyl release itself, giving Dreamin’ Out Loud a format it never received during its original run.
Dreamin’ Out Loud: 30th Anniversary is available now through Trace Adkins’ official store.
